Valerie O’Connor

Valerie O’Connor is a multi-tasker of the modern world. Following a career in photography she branched into food writing ad was a restaurant critic fr the Bridgestone Guides for five years while also writing and photographing for many national publications, always about food. In her twenties she travelled the worked and worked in kitchens from Brussels to Malaysia and on becoming a mother, found her passion for cooking became a necessary skill for bringing up her kids, her cooking careers branched into giving classes and demos and becoming an organic grower with a 2 year diploma. Valerie decided to combine her skills in food, writing and photography in her first book Bread on the Table, which brings traditional Irish recipes from the past into the modern kitchen with exciting recipes like Soda Bread Pizza and old favourites like Blaas and Boxty.
